A second non-fiction book. For someone who reads only fiction, this was another unusual choice for me. But with this book, first the cover caught my attention (isn't it beautiful?!) and then the description. The last few months have been so busy, between selling our house, moving in with my parents, preparing for a baby and looking for a new house, life has been overwhelming at times. Enter this book. This book is a 30 day devotional designed to fit into a busy life. The short chapters with reflection questions at the end of each were the perfect interludes to my day. Also, she would include a short blurb at the beginning of each chapter that were beautiful. All throughout the book she compared our hearts to a garden, which I loved. It was an easy comparison to relate to even though I don't do a lot of gardening. The front of the book says it best - "30 days to slow your pace, savor scripture and draw closer to God" Recommend? Yes! I highly recommend this devotional as it presents many good reminders and gives the space to examine where you are at. Cheers, Rebecca Baker Books sent me this complimentary copy to review for them. All opinions expressed are my own.
